Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a tool that can be used in decision making to help quantify the environmental implications of various biorefinery options. DDCE employs thorough LCA modeling to guide its research and development in order to achieve the most sustainable design. Our integrated biorefinery is designed to achieve a minimum of a 60% reduction of greenhouse-gas emissions vs. gasoline production.
The design of our demonstration plant in Vonore, Tenn., is based on DuPont’s ICBR project funded in part by the US Department of Energy.
