
Vonore, Tenn. – On Friday, Jan. 29, Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen will join leaders of DuPont Danisco Cellulosic Ethanol LLC (DDCE), the University of Tennessee, and Genera Energy to cut the ribbon on one of the world’s first demonstration scale cellulosic ethanol plants. The 74,000-square-foot plant located in Niles Ferry Industrial Park in Vonore, has started producing ethanol and will deliver low-cost, fully-integrated technology for commercial production of ethanol from agricultural residue and bioenergy crops, including corncobs and switchgrass.
Other honored speakers at the event include leaders from DDCE, DuPont, Danisco, University of Tennessee, Genera Energy, and U.S. Representatives John J. Duncan Jr. (R-Tenn) and Zach Wamp (R-Tenn).
